Hi there! I’m Stephanie, your fellow adventure enthusiast!
Born in Louisville, Kentucky and raised in a sweet little city not too far away, I grew up surrounded by folks with an adoration for cars, the racing world, and family road trip adventures. With tight-knit family and friends by my side guiding the way, my humble upbringing helped shape me into who I am today and taught me much about people and life in general.
Yes, growing up in beautiful, small-town America was lovely. Our hometown had much to offer in experiences, yet it was the simple things around me that satisfied my soul. One of my strongest memories is playing outdoors and running in and out of Grandma's country store. I would sit on the old porch swing, eating candy; drinking ice-cold sodas from glass bottles; and making friends with the wandering cats. It was peaceful, and it was heavenly. I knew at a young age I loved cars and critters, and I knew that I craved adventure. That little country store, along with my Daddy’s salvage yard, taught me that adventure is a state of mind. Sitting behind the wheels of cars that had seen better days and watching kittens scurry around, I’d daydream of highways to take me places - from the mountains to the seas. It was a pretty cool place to play and imagine what the future held.
Our family was very much involved in all types of racing, from dirt oval tracks to demo derby to the occasional drag strip. We had many family outings over the years, traveling to and running these races.
My own first set of wheels at 16 years old was an IROC Z28. That was a sweet ride for a teen. Just a few years later, I landed my 1981 Corvette. Little did I know at the time, that Corvette was the catapult of my own “car career” for decades to come, leading to thousands of new connections and friendships made all over the world.
My own amazing daughter Madison and sweetheart Shawn have kept me grounded and connected to the simple things. We love our own pets, and we also foster pups in need of a new lease on life. We collect vintage cars to bring back to their former glory, and we travel as much as our schedules allow. With the exception of North Dakota, I have visited every state in our beautiful country. My family has been blessed to travel around the world, and we’ve met beautiful people from all walks of life. If you know us well, you've most likely seen some of our adventures around the US and abroad posted online.
In a nutshell, from the planning stages to the sheer excitement of arriving someplace brand new to explore, I adore all aspects of travel. Witnessing the smiles on faces of family and friends whom I’ve had the joy of planning adventures brings me incredible joy. Having years’ worth of experience planning excursions under my belt, this new journey with Gearhead Getaways is the icing on the cake for me. It is an honor to use my gifts and passion for planning to help others looking to “get away”! So, whether you crave a road trip adventure behind the wheel of your favorite vehicle or an exciting excursion abroad, we will plan an amazing itinerary.
It’s been said if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. I praise God for the opportunity He has given me. Thank you for putting your traveling dreams in our hands, and I hope to work with you soon.

Hello friends,
I am Bobbie Jo Lee! Director of Love, Hugs and all things Customer Service related. I love people, I love helping others find joy, and honestly I’ve never met a stranger. So, you can rest assured I am a talker and taking care of people is my passion.
I was born in Louisville I and from a very early age as you can tell in the photo - my adventurous young spirit was already shouting “Have suitcase, will travel!” Back in the day of Greyhound bus as a main sport of transportation to adventures, and the days when a child could travel behind the bus driver on journeys without parent supervision - well, I was there with my suitcases headed from Louisville to Bowling Green to visit my grandparents.
I remember the excitement as I looked out the windows and gazed at others on the bus with me. At the age of 5, this was quite an exciting venture to be traveling and being smiled at and greeted by fellow bus riders.
I currently live in Glasgow, Kentucky and I have been married for almost 40 years to my best friend and bless my husband’s heart, he calls me his little gypsy girl. He knows me well and knows when it is time for a road trip just by the look in my eyes. I am proudly of Scottish descent - 76% to be exact and look forward to visiting my “homeland” hopefully soon.
I have four beautiful grandchildren and an awesome son and daughter, who are both happily married. One of my greatest hobbies is singing as I did it for a living for many years with a band - with two children by my side and my husband as booking agent and manager. Talk about adventures - Oh my! We worked alongside such names as Charlie Daniels, Restless Heart, Tracey Lawrence, the Kentucky Headhunters, Tammy Wynette and many more. I still occasionally sing at theaters and events but find my greatest use of my gift in praising the lord in church on our worship team.
I am so very happy and blessed to be a part of this travel agency and to be able to work hand in hand with my best friend of over 25 years - Stephanie Morrill. There is no better mentor and counsel to base work ethic from than she. We are so grateful to share in this journey with everyone we cross paths with and our years of taking care of others, putting others needs first and living what we believe - To treat others as you would want to be treated is a concrete standard for us.
Thank you for allowing me to share a bit of myself with you. I can’t wait to hear about you, your dreams and your journey bucket list! We all have one - so let us help you fill your bucket. We just might find our suitcases on the same journey together.
God Bless,
Bobbie Jo

My sister and I have always been ready for a road trip, even at an early age!
Hello there, fellow adventure seeker. I'm Deb Howard, Gearhead Getaways Volunteer Extraordinaire. Nice to meet you!
Growing up in Western New York, I always imagined my dream career would be either traveling the world as a professional portrait photographer or teaching elementary students like my favorite TV character, Laura Ingalls-Wilder did on Little House on the Prairie TV series.
As I grew, teaching called to me as the most logical career path, so I took it, but the thought of traveling the world never left my mind.
As life goes, I did have time to explore my passion for learning photography and have shot dozens of sessions over the years-from family portraits to headshots to wedding ceremonies, and of course to travel!
When cruising around the country, my camera typically never leaves my side. I like to enjoy the moment, but I also crave to capture it in images to revisit the fond moments at a later time. To me, that is part of the enjoyment in travel.
At times we may choose to take a journey in solidarity; sometimes we vacation in friendship groups (girls trip anyone?!) and other times we plan for months on end to create an incredible family adventure.
The underlying goal of travel (no matter the kind of trip, the itinerary we follow, or the people we are with) is always the same. We desire to have a wonderful time!
When choosing your favorite travel destination, what comes to mind? At Gearhead Getaways, we find exciting locales and plan creative itineraries, so the only thing you'll have to worry about is packing your camera to capture the memories!
We are always up for a trip to the beach!
